LEARNING ENGLISH IN A VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT IN BRAZILIAN TERTIARY EDUCATION: A CASE STUDY

William Tagata

Abstract

In this paper I intend to reflect on my experience as a teacher in an English graduation course using the Moodle platform created to complement the classroom activities. After a brief description of the activities devised in this platform, I go on to assess the positive and negative points of its use, based on the students’ comments at the end of the semester.I conclude by suggesting the need to develop students’ and teachers’ digital literacy, so that the potential for collaborative learning through this virtual learning space can be maximized.
